UBU has grown into a leading institution in northeastern Thailand, contributing to national and regional development through quality education, research, and the advancement of local knowledge and wisdom.
As the world continues to change, our role extends beyond the campus. UBU is committed to strengthening education and community engagement across the Greater Mekong Subregion while building meaningful connections with institutions around the world.
We will continue to advance excellence in teaching and learning, expand our research capabilities, and develop partnerships that create lasting value for our students, communities, and society.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Ubon Ratchathani University.
Since 1990, UBU has developed into a dynamic university committed to academic excellence and sustainable development in Thailand and the region. Our location in southern northeastern Thailand places us in a culturally rich and strategically important part of the Greater Mekong Subregion.
In 2025, UBU entered a new chapter as an autonomous public university, strengthening our ability to innovate, respond to changing societal needs, and pursue our goals with greater agility.
Our international partnerships connect UBU with universities and organizations around the world through joint research, collaborative projects, and student and faculty mobility. These connections support our ambition to become a leading university in ASEAN that contributes meaningfully to quality of life and sustainable development.
Across our undergraduate and postgraduate programs, students learn in an environment that brings together academic opportunity, modern facilities, regional knowledge, and a welcoming campus community.
